Lake Texoma is a fly fisherman's dream with year-round
fly fishing. It's "The Striper Capital of the World", with
excellent populations of large mouth bass, Kentucky spotted
bass, small mouth bass, white bass, crappie, bluegill, catfish
carp, and gar.
Lake Texoma is 89,000 acres with the most beautiful
shoreline and wooded areas you could imagine.
Lake Texoma Fly Fishing utilizes the wonderful lodging
accommodations on the lake and surrounding area to
customize your personal fly fishing vacation.
We are located in the Alberta Creek area of Lake Texoma
just minutes from Lake Texoma Resort and State Park which
has a lighted and paved landing strip adjacent to a beautiful
18 hole golf course and a new 18 hole PGA course - all in
view of the lake. We are approximately 90 miles from the
DFW Airport.

What We Do And What We Offer.
We offer year-round guided trips to fly fish for stipers,
sand bass, large and smallmouth bass, bluegill and gar.
We offer trips for beginners who have never fly fished
before and take you step by step, right into the action!
These trips and classes are taught on the water, not in
a casting yard.
We will furnish all the flies and, if you desire, we
will teach you how to tie your own flies and catch fish
on them the next day.
We offer dates and trips from beginner to expert -
father-son, or father-daughter, couples, family or
corporate groups welcome. Fly fishing is one of the
most popular outdoor sports in the county among women.
We have trips for and can fly fish the physically
handicapped. We have trips from one day to one week.
Winter time striper fishing can be excellent
We have a 22 ft. Predator Flyfisher Pro boat equipped
with a casting deck, fly rod racks, the necessary
electronics and lots of room for your stuff.
We have float tube equipment and offer float tube
trips. We also have a two man boat with trolling
motor and electronics that is designed for fly
fishing. Your catch will be iced on the boat,
cleaned, bagged and frozen for extended stays.
The striped bass is regarded as one of the top fly rod
targets in the country and Lake Texoma is "The Striper
Capital of the World !" What else do you need ?
We also offer wintertime - November through March - stream
fishing for rainbow trout and smallmouth bass on the
beautiful Blue River located one hour from Lake Texoma.
Instructor and Guide, John Hahn,
on the Blue river.
The Blue River's configuration of slow moving pools,
waterfalls and hardwood timber make it a truly awesome
fall fly fishing experience. Bring your camera.
Your Guide has 40 years fly fishing experience and
can teach you how to catch these magnificent fish on the
fly. Come here with a desire to fly fish and leave with
a lifetime passion!
Lake Texoma Fly Fishing also offers fly tying lessons,
one on one or group. These lessons can be on the lake shore
(weather permitting) or in my personal tying room.
WOW !
These guys can really bend a fly rod ! We will custom tie flies or selections of flies on
an order basis. Selections for bass, perch, crappie,
sand bass and stripers. Ask about our Texoma Triple Threat
Series. These selection make wonderful gifts for any
occasion, for any fly fisher.
Fall and Winter Prime Time Fly Fishing
The month of October, give or take a week, begins the annual fall and winter trophy striper time on Lake Texoma. This is also the beginning of the fall bait migration. The big stripers will follow gorging themselves on the available shad. They will continue the cycle of migration clear to the pre-spawn staging areas and remain in those areas throughout the winter months and into the spring. This is without question, the best period of the year to catch a double digit striper on the fly. Our clients caught large numbers of large fish this past season. Anglers from England, Scotland, Colorado, Florida, Texas, Kansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, and Nebraska have learned about this annual exodus. We know when and how to catch these fish on the fly by staying with these fish on a daily basis throughout the winter months. We promise you, you will have one of the most memorable fly fishing adventures of your life. All on an outdoor stage, dressed by schools of feeding loons, bald eagles, and all the sea birds, gulls, egrets, herons, and pelicans and migrating ducks and geese. This time of year is for serious fishermen. Just think, no sea-doos, no ski-doos, no heavy lake traffic.
If you have a friend that wants to fish with you and doesn't fly fish, he can use conventional spin cast or bait casting equipment and we will furnish the lures. Even though he doesn't fly fish, we won't hold that against him. "Poor guy!"
I am posting a few photos of some of our happy fly fishermen.
